Dennis and I moved to this area about 12 years ago. My father had lived here several years previously, so I was familiar with the area. As a wedding present to ourselves we bought the 40 acres to have a place to relax.
Now we offer this beautiful spot to others for camping and exploring. The scenery is spectacular. In the evenings the sun reflects off the Rosillos and Sierra del Carmen Mountains. The effect is breathtaking. You also have a wonderful view of Big Bend National Park.
You can sit under the shade we built and listen to the Golden Eagles scream. Watch Red Tailed Hawks circling overhead. Occasionaly you will see the young ones.
There is a small pond nearby so it is not unusual for wildlife to be near. Javalina and deer frequent the pond. At night you can listen to the coyotes as they sing to each other, hear the yipping of foxes as they pass by and sometimes wonder what is passing that you don't hear!
This is a fantastic area to view the sky at night. There are no lights except from above you. Come visit this area and enjoy this for yourself.
Camping rates vary. It is $10 per night per tent.
Long term rates offer a discount of a free night every 5 days.
There is a campfire area and cooking pit.
This is primitive so you must bring your own water.
Arrangements can be made for shower facilities.
We also offer 1/2 and full day trips.
